B. PHL Innovation Festival
Independence, along with other regional leaders and entrepreneurs, launched the B. PHL Innovation Festival. The festival, which is still supported by Independence, is designed to build Philadelphia’s reputation as the most innovative City on the East Coast. The festival serves as a true place of choice for those looking to inspire new ideas, make connections, and ignite novel ways of doing things.
CEO Council for Growth: Health Care Innovation Collaborative
Independence is a founding member of the CEO Council for Growth’s Health Care Innovation Collaborative. This multi-institutional initiative seeks to leverage our region’s strengths to build a vibrant economy that supports research and development, commercialization, and entrepreneurship —positioning the Greater Philadelphia area for accelerated company and job growth.
Civica Rx
Independence, along with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and 17 other independent Blue Cross® Blue Shield® companies, partnered with the nonprofit Civica to form CivicaScript, an initiative company focused on bringing lower-cost generic medicines to millions of people across the U.S.
CommunityLink
Independence and Signify Health collaborated to build CommunityLink, a network of community-based organizations in the Philadelphia region dedicated to breaking down the traditional barriers between social and clinical care and improving health outcomes.
Dedicated Senior Medical Centers
Independence has a partnership with Dedicated Senior Medical Centers, a leading primary care provider offering personalized and affordable services that improve health for low-income seniors.
Evio
Independence and four other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans have invested in Evio. This independent pharmacy solutions startup works to improve medication affordability and patients’ clinical outcomes and medication experiences.
PreCheck MyScript
A digital tool called PreCheck MyScript allows network providers to easily determine the most affordable medication options for patients. Powered by FutureScripts, this tool delivers greater transparency and health care connectivity by giving care providers real-time visibility into patients’ pharmacy benefits while helping to lower prescription drug costs.
Quartet Health
Independence is working with Quartet Health to help people battling depression, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders more easily access the most appropriate care. Quartet Health allows doctors to use a SmartMatch platform to identify mental health resources to meet their patients’ needs and refer them to behavioral health care.
Well City Challenge
Independence and the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia joined forces to launch the Well City Challenge. This social impact challenge engages and supports everyday innovators with new creative ideas for addressing the growing physical and mental health challenges in our region.
