January: New Year, New Me/Self Well-being

Well-being activity: Complete the Well-being Profile

Complete your Well-Being Profile on the ibx.com website. This annual assessment takes about 10 to 15 minutes. If you answer the questions, the Well-being Profile can not only provide a summary of your overall health, but also recommend programs for you to complete that focus on mind, body, and health!

To get access, log into ibx.com, then click on Health and Well-Being, Achieve Well-Being, then Well-Being Profile and begin your assessment.

February: Heart Health

Well-being activity: Complete a program on the Achieve Well-being platform

February is Heart Awareness Month. Heart-healthy living involves understanding your risk, making wise choices, and taking steps to reduce your chances of getting heart disease. If you have completed the Well-being Profile, you have been recommended programs that focus on your financial, mental, and physical health. In February, take part in a web-based program that focuses on High Blood Pressure Management.

To get to these programs go to your ibx.com, then click on Health and Well-being, Achieve Well-being. Next, click Action Plan, then Add New. Choose the program that’s right for you.

March: Breast Cancer and Colorectal Cancer Prevention

Well-being activity: Receive a preventive screening

Preventive screenings can help reduce your risk for a variety of diseases and conditions. Talk to your doctor to stay up to speed on preventive screenings for colon cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and more.

Find out what preventive screens are suggested for your age and gender.

April: Get Active and National Walk at Lunch Day

Well-being activity: Walk It Out — team challenge

Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. Participate in activities like walking, running, yoga, weightlifting, etc. for at least 30 minutes three times per week.

The end of April also includes National Walk at Lunch Day! Enjoy the spring weather by getting a few steps in during the day. If you are enrolled in the Walk It Out team challenge, your steps will count toward this!

To learn more about this challenge, log in to ibx.com and click on Health and Well-being, Achieve Well-being; then under your Action Plan, click on Challenges. The minimum requirement for successfully completing this challenge is 7,000 steps a day, for 3 days a week.

May: Mental Health Awareness

Well-being activity: Enroll in Mental Health Coaching

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. You have access to Mental Health Coaching by Teladoc Health, a digital resource with proven tools and dedicated support for stress, depression, chronic pain, substance use, and more. Mental Health Coaching by Teladoc Health offers self-guided digital content to strengthen your emotional well-being and support you wherever you are in your mental health journey. You can also use the Mental Health Coaching by Teladoc Health app, available from the Apple Store or Google Play.

June: Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

Well-being activity: Complete a program on the Achieve Well-being platform

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Take advantage of a web-based program that focuses on stress management or mental health. Find out what programs interest you to focus on your wellness goals.

To find these programs go to your ibx.com account, click on Health and Well-being, then Achieve Well-being. Click Action Plan, then Add New. Choose the program that’s right for you.

July: Live a Smoke-free Life

Well-being activity: Check out the Healthy Lifestyles Tobacco Cessation Program

You probably know many of the reasons why you should quit smoking — it can help you breathe easier, live longer, and protect the health of those around you. Quitting isn't easy, and many people try more than once before they succeed, but it's worth it. To help you quit for good, our Healthy Lifestyles Tobacco Cessation Program will reimburse you up to $150 for completing an approved tobacco cessation program.

August: Annual Checkup & Flu Shots

Well-being activity: Visit your PCP for your annual checkup and receive your flu shot

Get rewarded for going for your annual PCP checkup. Talk to your PCP about screenings or tests that may help reduce the risk of future health problems. Also, speak to your PCP about getting the influenza vaccine. This is the best way to prevent the flu. Ask your doctor about the benefits of the flu vaccine and the types of vaccines that are available to you.

September: Suicide Prevention

Well-being activity: Improve your emotional well-being

National Suicide Prevention week is the second full week of September every year. Suicide prevention starts with recognizing the warning signs and taking them seriously. With tele-behavioral health, you can have virtual visits by phone or video chat with a licensed health care professional (including psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors). To locate a licensed professional who offers tele-behavioral health services, call 1-800-688-1911.

October: Financial Check Ups

Well-being activity: Complete an Achieve Well-Being program that focuses on financial wellness

Evaluate your financial wellness. You can complete a financial web-based program or call your retirement management program to see how if you need to make any adjustments towards retirement!

To get to these programs, log in at ibx.com. Click on Health and Well-being, then Achieve Well-being. Click Action Plan, then Add New. Choose the program that’s right for you.

November: Earn $150 Reimbursement for Living Healthy

Well-being activity: Sign up for the Healthy LifestylesSM weight management, smoking cessation, or fitness reimbursement programs through ibx.com or the IBX mobile app.

Looking for motivation to exercise, lose weight, or quit tobacco for good? The Healthy Lifestyles Solutions programs will reimburse you $150 when you sign up and complete either their weight management, smoking cessation, or fitness programs.

December: Stress Management

Well-being activity: Complete a stress management program on the Achieve Well-being platform

Stress affects everyone and can build up in all sorts of ways. Feeling stressed can be beneficial at times, producing a boost that provides the drive and energy to help you get through situations like exams or work deadlines. However, an extreme amount of stress can have negative health consequences and take a severe emotional toll. The Achieve Well-being platform allows you to choose from many different stress management programs and create a personalized Action Plan with daily activities to help meet those goals.
