IBC provides grants to local accredited nursing programs in southeastern Pennsylvania supported by the Nurse Scholars Program, each of which administers the scholarship funds differently based upon its individual institution's financial aid policies and practices.

IBC does not directly award student scholarships and is not involved in the student selection process.

How does this program work?
IBC and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation (PHEF) have each committed annual funding dedicated to the Nurse Scholars Program through the 2010 academic year.

Each year, this funding is allocated to qualified nursing programs in southeastern Pennsylvania according to a predetermined formula that is calculated using program data such as student enrollment and graduation rates from the previous year.

IBC and PHEF then provide a lump sum grant payment to each of the nursing programs supported by the Nurse Scholars Program. The exact grant amount awarded to each school varies from year to year depending on enrollment data and graduation rates at all supported nursing programs.

Each nursing program is responsible for distributing the scholarship funds to nursing students according to its individual institution's financial aid policies and practices.
