In order to assist our providers in maximizing patient health outcomes in accordance with NCQA’s1 HEDIS®2 measurements for high quality care on important dimensions of services, we have introduced an article series in our monthly newsletter Partners in Health UpdateSM.
What is HEDIS®?
The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) is a tool used by more than 90 percent of America’s health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service. Altogether, HEDIS® consists of 75 measures across eight domains of care. Because so many plans collect HEDIS® data, and because the measures are so specifically defined, HEDIS® makes it possible to compare the performance of health plans on an “apples-to-apples” basis, according to NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance).
We’ve compiled the Highlighting HEDIS® articles published to date, which feature different HEDIS® measures each month, into the below booklet for your reference. We will add to this booklet as new articles are published.
If you have comments on the information you read in Highlighting HEDIS® or you have topics you'd like to see included, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
