Physician Advisory Committee
Independence Blue Cross (IBC) Physician Advisory Committee discusses issues arising from interactions among allopathic/osteopathic physicians, their patients, and IBC. The committee provides a platform to exchange ideas and present peer and community interests to IBC regarding national, regional, state, and local health care matters.
These issues may include, but are not limited to:
- improvement of health care and clinical quality;
- improvement of communications, relations, and cooperation between physicians and IBC;
- clinical or administrative issues that affect the interaction between physicians and IBC.
The Physician Advisory Committee meets at least once every six months. The committee is made up of 12 physicians, including IBC’s chief medical officer (or designee), who serves as chairperson. Each physician was selected for their expertise and commitment to improve health care standards and practices.
