As we continue to enhance the NaviNet® web portal and expand upon the information available to our providers, the role of your designated Security Officer is more important than ever. The NaviNet Security Officer is responsible for controlling which individuals are allowed to access the portal on behalf of their office, facility, or department. He or she must be knowledgeable concerning statutory and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and any state medical privacy mandates.
Specific responsibilities of a Security Officer include:
It is acceptable to have more than one NaviNet Security Officer per office, facility, or department. To identify your NaviNet Security Officer, select NaviNet Central and then My Profile.
