Independence Blue Cross Invites Runners to Tell Their Blue Cross Broad Street Stories on Newly Launched Web Site

Philadelphia, PA - March 21, 2007 - Independence Blue Cross, the region’s leading health insurer and title sponsor of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run for the past 11 years, today announced a new section of the company’s Web site called “Running Stories” where runners can share their personal stories about one of Philadelphia’s most beloved road races.

Beginning today, participants in the Blue Cross Broad Street Run can submit their stories and photos by visiting www.ibx.com/runningstories. IBC will rotate stories through race day on Sunday, May 6. Stories will focus on every aspect of running and the race, such as why people run, challenges overcome, favorite racing moments, and personal running tips.

“We’ve heard hundreds of remarkable stories about this legendary 10-miler and we want to share those with the entire running community,” said Joseph A. Frick, IBC president and chief executive officer. “Encouraging and inspiring people to be physically fit, including running in the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, is part of our ongoing commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community.”

In addition to “Running Stories,” IBC recently launched a new Web site that offers health and fitness tools, such as a newsletter, nutrition information, and a runners’ logbook to help IBC members get a head start on race training.
