Press ReleaseIndependence Blue Cross and Grand View Hospital Sign New Multi-Year AgreementPhiladelphia, PA - October 16, 2006 - Independence Blue Cross and its affiliates and Bucks County, Pennsylvania's Grand View Hospital announced today that they are continuing their relationship and have inked a new three-year participation agreement that is effective September 1, 2006 through August 2009. Frick, president and CEO of Independence Blue Cross. "Teamwork, partnership, and an uncompromising commitment to improve the health of our members and the members of the community are at the core of this new progressive agreement." A new and dynamic component of the Independence Blue Cross (IBC) and Grand View contract is a quality-based performance payment structure. This merit-based compensation approach measures performance using quantitative criteria such as patient safety and quality of care measures. "Our new agreement will provide Grand View the opportunity to earn additional revenue for delivering health care of even higher quality to our members," said Frick. "Our goal is to achieve a 'win-win-win' for our members first and foremost, as well as for Grand View and IBC."
