Blue Cross RiverRink Season Extended

Popular ice skating rink now open through February

Philadelphia, PA - January 26, 2006 - The Blue Cross RiverRink has extended its 12th season to give the public an extra week of family fun. Due to popular demand, the popular public ice skating rink will be open for regular sessions until February 28, 2006.

The Blue Cross RiverRink is the only outdoor skating rink in the Delaware Valley and features a regulation Olympic hockey-sized ice skating rink, a warming pavilion, skating lessons, private party room, skate rentals and weekend activities.

The Blue Cross RiverRink is open Monday through Thursday, 6 pm. - 9 p.m.; Friday 6 p.m. - 1 a.m.; Saturday 12:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.; and Sunday 12:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.  In addition, skaters can enjoy a live DJ every Friday and karaoke on Saturday nights. Holiday skate session times on Presidents Day, February 20, will be 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The Blue Cross RiverRink is located on Columbus Boulevard at Market Street. Skating admission is just $6 and skate rental is $3. Convenient parking is available on site for $8. Those who show their Independence Blue Cross health insurance ID card will receive $2 off admission.
