HealthGrades Quality Guides
With the Hospital Quality Guide you can view the following information on participating hospitals and make comparisons between hospitals:
- statistics on survival, complications, and recovery following common procedures
- the number of procedures performed by the hospital
- ratings on safe practices
- average length of hospital stays for common procedures
- relative cost data
The Physician Quality Guide includes information on:
- medical education, training and licensure
- board certification and specialty training
- foreign languages spoken
- gender
- office hours, locations, and hospital affiliations
- sanctions/medical board actions

Compare Quality Among Pennsylvania Hospitals with PHCQA
PHCQA’s mission is to improve the quality of patient health by developing a consistent, uniform, statewide approach to hospital quality measures that:
- enables consumers to compare hospital performance
- allows health care professionals to evaluate and improve the quality of their patient care
- helps insurers to evaluate the performance of their provider networks
The health care quality measures available on this site fall into four clinical areas:
