Automatic Claims Rollover

Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs)*

Automatic claims rollover is an optional feature available with a BlueSaverSM HRA. With automatic claims rollover, the portion of a claim that an employee owes is automatically processed against available BlueSaver HRA funds.

  • Automatic claims rollover is an optional feature for employers. If selected by an employer, each employee enrolled in a BlueSaver HRA makes his or her own claims rollover decision (to have all or none of his or her claims automatically processed against available BlueSaver HRA funds).
    • Employees who opt for “no claims rollover” or who do not indicate a claims rollover decision at the time of enrollment will have to submit claims manually.
    • Unlike benefit changes, employees may change their claims rollover decision at any time during the plan year.
  • Automatic claims rollover is available for medical and prescription drug copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.
  • Automatic claims rollover is not available for:
    • dental care expenses
    • vision care expenses
    • dependent care expenses
    • non-covered services
