Basic Option is a preferred provider organization (PPO) plan. When you have Basic Option, you never need a referral and you don’t have to select a primary care physician. You can select from more than 100 hospitals in our area and more than 45,000 doctors in Pennsylvania, but you must use in-network providers for your care.
Features of Blue Cross Basic Option PPO
- $25 copay for primary care physician office visits and $35 for specialist visits;
- emergency and inpatient hospital coverage;
- prescription drug coverage;
- no deductibles;
- no referrals required.
