National Walk @ Lunch Day

Turn a working lunch into a walking lunch

Join us for the Philadelphia region's annual National Walk @ Lunch Day event at Rittenhouse Square in Center City on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. More than 13,000 people participated last year, and we want you to help us make this year's walk an even bigger success.

Taking part in National Walk @ Lunch Day gives your employees a chance to break out of their lunchtime routine and enjoy the healthy benefits of walking. It's fun, it encourages team building, and it proves that a pair of walking shoes is all they need to fit regular physical activity into their busy schedules.

This year, you can also help unite the city of Philadelphia for a better future by enrolling in the American Cancer Societys research study, Cancer Prevention Study 3 (CPS-3), at IBC's National Walk @ Lunch Day event in Rittenhouse Square. Like walking, participation in CPS-3 is simple and easy, and can save future generations facing cancer.

Use our toolkit to engage your employees

Whether you are joining Independence Blue Cross at Rittenhouse Square or planning your own event, we make it easy for you to promote National Walk @ Lunch Day at your workplace. Our employer toolkit includes a planning guide, email text, web buttons, and an event banner, poster, and flyer.

Keep your employees motivated

National Walk @ Lunch Day takes place each April on the last Wednesday of the month, but the spirit of the event can be carried throughout the year. Implementing an Independence Blue Cross worksite wellness program can help you reduce health care costs by motivating your employees to make healthier lifestyle choices.
