That's why IBX and the Phillies are teaming up to show our appreciation. We're honoring six teachers in our region who are at the top of their game in professional and personal achievements.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a teacher for the IBX Honor Roll! We were overjoyed to receive thousands of heartfelt nominations for exceptional educators across our community. The nomination period has now closed. We will post winners from now to September.
We are excited to introduce the winners of this year’s IBX Honor Roll. These teachers have demonstrated unwavering dedication to their students and community by fostering a love of learning in the classroom, actively participating in extracurricular activities, and positively impacting their students’ social and emotional well-being.
Walnut Street Elementary
GRADES: Elementary
SUBJECT: Music & Band and Choral Director
YEARS TEACHING: 16
Favorite pastime: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending live music events, watching cooking shows, and discovering new restaurants. Whether sharing a meal or enjoying a performance, I appreciate experiences that bring us together and create lasting memories.
What do you love about teaching: I love inspiring the next generation. Every student is unique, and I'm fortunate to help them discover their potential, build confidence, and believe in themselves. Seeing them grow both musically and personally is one of the greatest gifts of being a teacher.

SUBJECT: Math
YEARS TEACHING: 16
Favorite pastime: I love spending time with my husband and daughters, cheering for Philly teams, and making memories down the shore. When I'm not with family or watching sports, you can find me on the court or field, coaching youth basketball or field hockey.
What do you love about teaching: One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is building real, meaningful connections with my students and watching their confidence grow as they take on new challenges, push themselves, and discover what they can do.

Teacher of the Visually Impaired
YEARS TEACHING: 8
Favorite pastime: I enjoy vacationing in OCNJ and Disney, rooting for the Phillies and Flyers, coaching cheerleading, and reading. I'm also the founder and CEO of PHL Blind Hockey, and I'm passionate about bringing this parasport to the visually impaired community.
What do you love about teaching: Helping my students build confidence inside and outside the classroom, adapting instructions and materials, using creative strategies, and watching them develop their communication and self-advocacy skills.

GRADES: 9th – 12th
Autistic Support Teacher
YEARS TEACHING: 18
Favorite pastime: Spending time with family and friends, relaxing at the beach, and participating in local theater.
What do you love about teaching: I'm incredibly lucky to watch my students grow over four years, from freshmen to seniors. Seeing their confidence and independence blossom is amazing. I love teaching social and life skills and then bringing those lessons into the community. There’s nothing better than watching it all click!
