Uninsured Individuals

Under the new law, 32 million people who currently are without insurance will have increased access to affordable coverage, largely through subsidies that will be offered by the government, and through the expansion of Medicaid in 2014 that will help 15 million more low-income people afford insurance.

In the meantime, there are a few options now to help uninsured people to get coverage on their own.

If you do not have insurance now, you should know that in 2014 there are a number of new provisions that begin that affect people without insurance, most notably the requirement that everyone have health coverage. Here are some important things to know about the changes happening with the law in the future.
