Yvette D. BrightEVP and Chief Operating Officer
Yvette D. Bright is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Independence Blue Cross. In this role, she oversees Commercial & Consumer Business and Diversified Businesses, as well as Customer Service, Processing Services, Operations Shared Services, and Business Technology Services.
Bright joined Independence Blue Cross in 1991 and has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility in the operational, provider, marketing, and eBusiness areas. In 2001, she was selected to lead the company’s growing eBusiness initiatives. In 2005, she was appointed senior vice president for eBusiness and Operations and assumed oversight of all operational areas — including claims processing, member services, and enrollment — in addition to eBusiness. She was named senior vice president and chief administrative officer in 2009 and became executive vice president and chief transformation officer in 2012.
Prior to joining Independence Blue Cross, Bright held several positions in marketing, training, and consulting services in the United States and United Kingdom.
Bright graduated from Tulane University School of Engineering, completed post-graduate course work at the London Business School, and received her master of business administration in health care management from Saint Joseph’s University.
