Blue Cross Broad Street Run

The 33rd annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run kicks off Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 8:30 a.m.

As our region’s leading health insurer, Independence Blue Cross is committed to enhancing the health and wellness of the people and communities we serve. We are proud to be the title sponsor of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, the largest 10-miler in the country, hosting over 30,000 runners.

The run is a tribute to the generosity of our community in support of the American Cancer Society. Donations received from the run help fund cancer research and treatment for people throughout our community who are struggling with this devastating disease.

Runners start at Broad Street and West Fisher Avenue in North Philadelphia and run south past landmarks like Temple University, City Hall, and the Sports Complex. They cross the finish line in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Some great places to watch the race are City Hall, Broad and Walnut Streets, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, and at the Navy Yard, where limited bleachers will be available.
