Joseph A. Frick’s Letter to the IBC Provider Network

On March 28, 2007, Independence Blue Cross (IBC) President and CEO Joseph A. Frick sent a letter informing the IBC provider network that the board of IBC and the board of Highmark had agreed to combine the two organizations.

The letter provided a brief overview of the announced agreement between IBC and Highmark, detailed some of the expected benefits of the combination, and concluded, “The combination of our two companies will foster long-term stability on which you can continue to depend. Your patients and our communities will benefit from the renewed vitality and potential this venture brings to Pennsylvania.”
