Independence Blue Cross Launches New Website for Medicare Beneficiaries

Philadelphia, PA - May 24, 2007 - Independence Blue Cross is pleased to announce a complete redesign of its interactive Medicare website, www.site65.com.

The new website design makes it easier for current and prospective members, providers, and caregivers to find information, resources, and links to help them make important decisions. Features of the redesign include:

  • “Senior-friendly” design and improved navigation. Larger type and simplified layout make it easier for members to read and navigate through the site and give the website a fresh new look and feel.
  • Greater online capabilities. Members can access a personalized member portal, www.ibxpress.com, which allows members to access their benefit information; view processed claims; email customer services; download plan-related forms; enroll in Healthy LifestylesSM programs, which promote healthy behaviors through incentives such as fitness center reimbursements; look up provider information, such as office hours, physicians’ medical education and training background, and statistics on survival and recovery for common procedures at local hospitals; and much more.
  • Plan comparison tools. New tools make it easy for prospective members to find the Medicare plans that they are eligible for, view side-by-side comparisons of up to three plans, and apply online.
  • New section for caregivers. To help caregivers manage their loved one’s care including choosing the right medical coverage, finding a doctor, and managing medications, useful information and resources are included.
