Senior Research Analyst
Location:

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Research Analyst in our conveniently located Center City Philadelphia location. The Analyst will assist the Manager of Consultative Business Services-Finance, in providing Informatics support to the Independence Blue Cross Finance Division, including Actuarial, Underwriting, and Accounting.
Responsibilities:

Provide domain specific Finance knowledge, provide ad hoc reporting and analysis services (utilizing Web Focus and other IBC enterprise tools), and identify areas for reporting consolidation and self-service opportunities.

Ensure that business requirements necessary to fulfill data acquisition and reporting requests are identified and documented, and communicate these requirements to the appropriate Informatics’ departmental units (e.g., Standard Reporting, Data Acquisition, etc.)

Participation as needed in Data Stewardship activities and workgroups.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, a Clinical Research Field, or equivalent work experience required. Three to five years progressive experience in reporting and analysis. Experience working in an Actuarial business unit (Trend, Reserving, Medical Cost Analysis, etc.) is required. Ability to summarize data into “presentation ready” reports tailored to the audience. Ability to develop reports and analyses that provide the appropriate level of detail necessary for communication of the issue or decision at hand. Ability to lead a project, including: defining scope, communicating status to client, monitoring progress, mitigating risks and resolving issues.
