  • Retail health clinic: Certified nurse practitioners treat minor, uncomplicated illness or injury.

When should I use the emergency room?

Seek treatment at a hospital emergency room for life-threatening medical situations including:

  • severe shortness of breath or chest pain;
  • sudden or unexplained loss of consciousness;
  • sudden, severe abdominal pain;
  • cut or wound that won’t stop bleeding.
