When to Get Immunizations
Make sure your child gets his or her shots and other immunizations on time.
Check with your child’s primary care physician to find out if your child is up-to-date on his or her routine visits and immunizations. Important things to know about immunizing your child:
Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule
Use this chart to keep track of your child's immunizations. Keep this record handy as a reminder to schedule your child's visits.

NOTE:
- Adolescents who have not received the three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine should complete the entire series by age 11 to 12 years. For adolescents who have not been previously immunized, this vaccine is covered by the Caring Foundation until their 19th birthday.
- Adolescents who have not received a second dose of MMR at 4 to 6 years should receive it at 11 to 12 years.
- Unvaccinated children with no history of chicken pox should be vaccinated at age 11-12 years. Unvaccinated adolescents 13 years of age and older should receive 2 doses of Varicella vaccine at least 1 month apart.
There now exist combination vaccinations and variations in vaccination schedules. Please discuss these combination vaccinations and other special schedules with your child’s doctor.
