Important Information About Keystone
Prescription Drug Discount Program
Prescription drug coverage is not included in your adultBasic
coverage except for:
- medications ordered during an inpatient hospital stay;
and
- diabetic insulin and oral agents, and immunosuppressants
when you are not an inpatient.
However, Keystone’s adultBasic does offer all enrolled members
the opportunity to purchase prescription medications at
a significant discount through its prescription drug discount
program.
How to Use the Prescription Drug Discount Program
To take full advantage of the money-saving prescription
drug discount program:
- ask your doctor to prescribe a suitable generic drug
if possible;
- determine if your pharmacy participates in the Keystone
network; and
- present your adultBasic Keystone ID Card to the participating
pharmacy. Your pharmacist must process your prescription
in order to get the discounted price (If your pharmacy
does not participate, you will need to select a participating
pharmacy to receive a discount.)
No Fees, No Limits, No Claim Forms
- There are no limits on how frequently you can use
your adultBasic Keystone ID Card for a discount.
- There are no claim forms to fill out, no waiting for
reimbursement.
- Your savings are automatic and on the spot.

the Caring Foundation and Keystone’s contract
with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
for the adultBasic program, but are made
available to all enrollees who are members
of the adultBasic program.
- These products and
services are not subject to the adultBasic
appeals process. Any disputes regarding
these products and services may be subject
to the Keystone grievance process.
