You Can Accept or Refuse Treatment

When you join Keystone, you agree that you will receive care according to the recommendation of your primary care physician.

You have the right to give your informed consent before the start of any procedure or treatment.

You have the right to refuse any drugs, treatment or other procedures offered to you by Keystone providers and to be informed by the physician of the medical consequences of your refusal of any drugs, treatment or procedure.

You have the right to expect that Keystone and your primary care physician will make every effort to arrange a professionally acceptable alternative treatment for you.

However, if you still refuse the recommended plan of treatment, Keystone will not be responsible for the costs of further treatment for that condition and you will be so notified.

You may use the grievance procedure to have your case reviewed.
