Beating Asthma

Don't let your asthma keep you from doing the things you want to do like riding your bike or playing sports.  Here's a list of things you can do to keep your asthma under control.

Follow the Asthma Treatment/Action Plan prescribed by your doctor.

Know your triggers. Do your best to avoid those things that you know can bring on an asthma attack.

If you use a rescue inhaler, keep it with you at all times. Your school nurse should also have your medication in the nurse's office.

Tell a parent or guardian when you feel your symptoms getting worse.

The ConnectionsSM Health Management Program can help you cope with asthma and other chronic conditions. Ask your parent or guardian about enrolling in the Connections Asthma Program.
