Funding
Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs)1

Employers fund the account throughout the year. Employers don't have to set aside all the cash up front, so they have greater flexibility in cash flow. Simply deposit a percentage of the HRA funding and then add more as employees use their funds.

Reimbursement checks are drawn on our HRA administrator's bank account. All funds are deposited into this account, and all claims are paid out of this account. Reimbursement checks are issued on Independence Blue Cross check stock.

Funding Transfer Options

1. Automated Clearing House (ACH) — Employer-designated account

  • Employer completes and signs the ACH Authorization form, allowing our HRA administrator to get access to their bank account for withdrawals.
  • Sales rep. retains the original ACH form to attach to group enrollment paperwork.
