Basic Drug Options
Prescription plan for groups
Members with prescription drug coverage stay healthier — and are more productive — when they are able to afford the medications they need, like antibiotics to treat infections and cholesterol or blood pressure medications to manage chronic conditions. Employers who are challenged to balance health care costs can find a cost-saving solution with one of our lower-cost options.
Features of the Basic Drug Options:
- With low copayments for generic drugs, these more affordable options encourage generic drug use to control costs.
- Under the $7 generic/50% ($125) plan, the member's brand coinsurance amount is based on the FutureScripts® negotiated discount price at participating retail pharmacies that is typically below average retail prices.
- Under the $4 generic/brand plan, most brand drugs purchased at a participating retail pharmacy are available at the FutureScripts negotiated discount price at participating retail pharmacies that is typically below average retail prices.
- There is no need to preselect a pharmacy.
- More than 60,000 pharmacies nationwide participate in the FutureScripts retail network, including the area's largest retail chains.
- No claims forms needed when participating pharmacies are used.
- Members can verify their eligibility at participating pharmacies online before they leave the house.
- Participating pharmacies can instantly check available drug history for possible drug interactions and other dangers.
