As a local, not-for-profit organization, Independence Blue Cross’s (IBC) values have always been firmly rooted within the community. Giving back has always been one of our company’s highest priorities, a point of pride, and a defining feature of our corporate culture.

From associate volunteerism to sponsoring initiatives to help make health insurance more affordable for and accessible to everyone, we strive to maintain and improve the health and well-being of our community through our unique social mission.

We help to provide free or low-cost health coverage to uninsured children and adults in our region through our specialty coverage programs:

Blue Crew
Throughout the year we engage the community in innovative wellness and education programs and health-focused events. To further assist our neighbors, IBC associates volunteer thousands of hours of service to local causes through the Blue Crew — our corporate volunteer program.

Health eTools for Schools
Kids with healthy habits generally grow into adults with healthy habits. That’s why we offer area schools our Health eTools for Schools — a unique Web-based program to help schools promote student wellness and combat childhood obesity.
