Christopher CashmanEVP and President of Commercial Markets
Christopher Cashman is executive vice president and president of commercial markets, with responsibility for sales and marketing; ancillary businesses; and corporate communications, including media and public relations, corporate contributions, and advertising. Cashman joined Independence Blue Cross (IBC) in 1997.
Prior to joining IBC, Cashman served as first deputy director of commerce for the City of Philadelphia. He was also vice president for project development at the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and a senior manager at the Philadelphia City Planning Commission.
In addition, Cashman worked as a senior associate at S.R. Wojdak & Associates. There, he directed the development and successful implementation of governmental relations strategies for a broad-based group of clients in the health care, education, economic development, transportation, sports, and hospitality industries.
Cashman serves on a number of boards in the Philadelphia community, including those of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Zoological Society of Philadelphia, YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity, World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, Police Athletic League, Temple University School of Medicine for Minority Health & Health Disparities, Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and the Mayor’s Scholarship Committee.
In 2012, Cashman was named Father of the Year by the Father’s Day Council of Greater Philadelphia in recognition of his community and corporate leadership.
Cashman holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from DeSales University.
