Independence Blue Cross introduces #IBXLiveFearless photo contest
Six prizes totaling over $3,000 available to participants
Philadelphia, PA - September 10, 2013 - Independence Blue Cross (IBC) invites consumers to demonstrate how they “Live Fearless” by entering the #IBXLiveFearless photo contest. Live Fearless — IBC’s new ad campaign — encourages consumers to embrace life, overcome obstacles, and take on new challenges. Through #IBXLiveFearless, people can submit photos on PCs, mobile devices, Facebook or Instagram and show how they embody the Live Fearlessspirit. Participants can win prize money for entering photos and for voting for their favorite photos.
“We want to provide the residents in our region with the safety and security they have come to expect from Independence Blue Cross, while encouraging them to Live Fearless, being adventurous and embracing life every day,” said John McClung, IBC vice president of Advertising and Creative Services. “We’re proud to launch the #IBXLiveFearless contest, which provides our community a chance to show us how they’re living fearlessly every day.”
Everyone who uploads a photo will be entered to win one of three monthly $1,000 prizes. Participants can share the links to their photos with friends and family and encourage them to vote. Individuals can also be entered into a monthly $250 sweepstakes drawing by voting for the entry they think best captures the Live Fearless spirit.

In 2012, Independence Blue Cross launched the “Unwind and Win” photo contest on Facebook. The five-week campaign resulted in more than 3,000 participants and a 33 percent increase in fans. Added McClung: “Photo contests offer a great way to generate consumer engagement and fan growth. Ultimately, we want consumers to know that Independence Blue Cross is interested in their lives and their personal stories.”

The #IBXLiveFearless contest is open to all legal U.S. residents over the age of 18, beginning September 9, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. EDT and ending December 1, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Three winners will be announced each month on the IBX Live Fearless website.
