Through a new collaboration between IBC and Farm to City, a local business devoted to bringing products from nearby farms to Philadelphia-area residents, IBC brings locally-grown produce from the farm to you this season. The IBC Farmers’ Market opens May 17 and will be open every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in IBC’s courtyard at 1901 Market Street in Center City Philadelphia. The weekly IBC Farmer’s Market enhances the health and wellness of the communities we serve by encouraging people to enjoy the nutritious benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables.

On Saturday, October 1, nearly 500 IBC associates and their friends and family members joined thousands of other people at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the 2011 Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. For the fourth consecutive year, IBC proudly served as the presenting sponsor of Step Out in Philadelphia.

On April 25, 2012, Independence Blue Cross helped thousands of employees throughout the region turn a working lunch into a walking lunch during the fifth annual National Walk @ Lunch Day. The simple lunchtime walking event continues to demonstrate that even the smallest steps can lead to a healthier lifestyle, and encourage employees to develop regular walking routines.
