Cancer Prevention Study-3

Independence Blue Cross (IBC) has joined the movement to help create a world with more birthdays and less cancer by supporting a new research study from the American Cancer Society called Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). CPS-3 is a nationwide, grassroots effort where local communities can support cancer research by participating actively in this historic research study. As the regional CPS-3 champion, IBC has partnered with the American Cancer Society to make enrollment in this study convenient by hosting an enrollment event in the courtyard at 1901 Market Street on Friday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 years who have no personal history of cancer are encouraged to join this opportunity to save lives by helping to find a cancer cure.

Your participation could lead to a cure

Previous cancer studies have already led to many discoveries, including the links between smoking and lung cancer and aspirin use and reduced risk of colon cancer. But there is still more work to do. Participation in CPS-3 could bring about more information which will reduce the number of people fighting this devastating disease.

Enrollment information for the American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3) study is strictly confidential and property of the ACS’s Epidemiology Research Program. Information about individual study participants will not be shared with any external third parties, including doctors, employers, or insurance companies. The ACS will keep all records private to the extent allowed by law.
