Uninsurable and Ratable Risks Rating and Underwriting

The medical conditions included in the Uninsurable and Ratable Risks list are uninsurable for specified time frames and ratable risks thereafter. Whether they fall into an uninsurable or a ratable category may depend on the time frames, severity of condition, treatment, stability, and prognosis.

This is not an all-inclusive list but refers to many conditions of questionable insurability. Some conditions listed may require a rating that exceeds Independence Blue Cross's risk tolerance, and coverage will be denied indefinitely.
